Richard Jackson Ltd were appointed on behalf of Lambeth Council to undertake Phase 1 desk study investigations at five schools proposed for redevelopment.
Historical and environmental information was obtained for all of the sites and this information was supplemented by walkover surveys.
The desk studies identified the geology and potential geological hazards as well as potential sources of contamination.
Conceptual ground models were produced in each case noting potential contamination sources, pathway receptors and the level of risk posed by contamination.
A geotechnical appraisal of the findings was also provided to give advice with respect to future design and construction and proposals provided for future Phase 2, intrusive investigations.
