Richard Jackson Ltd has been extensively involved in the redevelopment of Colchester Barracks. The development consists of a number of land parcels, earmarked for affordable housing, private housing and apartments, retail and business use on a phased release from the MOD.
Our pre-planning team have been involved in consultation with Essex County Council Highways to agree the design principles on a number of new and existing roads to ensure they meet adoptable standards. We have also provided detailed design services to the existing highways and junctions subject to Section 278 Agreements and also the detailed design of new adoptable highways on the land parcels that are subject to Section 38 Agreements.
Traffic modelling was undertaken on new and existing junctions. Sustainable drainage, such as the use of swales, soakways have been specified where possible. Alternatives have also been provided where appropriate to manage flood risks.
