Ports and Marina – Barge Stability Calculations

Richard Jackson Ltd have produced barge stability calculations and crane fixing calculations for numerous schemes which include projects for the Environment Agency and other marine contractors.

We have produced calculations for fixing to various floating vessel types including jack up barges, modular float systems, flat top barges and modular pontoon systems. The floating vessels have been used for numerous applications and include a working platform for operating tracked and wheeled cranes and excavations off, mounted hiab systems, feeder vessels for transporting plant and equipment to temporary vehicular crossings.

Consideration has been given to various methods of securing the floating barges/equipment into position. Various options include the use of spud legs, storm anchors, working vessels, jack up legs and making up to fixed mooring positions.
