Drainage
Extensive experience in providing economic design solutions for a wide range of schemes across the United Kingdom. Works include the design of appropriate Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems, attenuation schemes as well as design of large diameter pipe, sectional and box culverts, pipe jacking / tunnelling schemes including shafts and bulkheads.
Structures
Bridge design, strengthening and assessment for both road and rail use. Design of both private and adopted retaining structures in various materials varying from steel sheet piling to contiguous concrete to reinforced earth. Design of both temporary works and anchor systems are also undertaken regularly along with design of deep basements and water retaining structures.
Roads
Design of trunk road improvements, relief roads, roundabouts, traffic calming zones, signalised junctions, all in a variety of environments, along with associated earthworks and their assessment. Schemes undertaken for public and private sector clients leading to their party adoption where appropriate.
Rail
Extensive experience in completing assessments and strengthening of OHLE structures; undertaking various forms of structural inspections and surveys; land surveys and assessments; design of strengthening schemes for retaining walls, bridges and viaducts; as well as the completion of geotechnical investigations and design of repairs to unstable embankments and cuttings with solutions utilising many forms including Gabions, soil nailing and sheet piling. Works to both main line and underground stations have also been completed across the UK.
Docks and Marine
Design of deep water quays including mooring and fendering systems. The design of ro-ro facilities and floating pontoons, sea defences and riverbank protection works. Heavy duty paving for container handling facilities. Design of passenger embarkation walkways for major ports and marinas for both leisure and residential use.
Water
Design of pumping stations for Internal Drainage Boards, sewage treatment works, reservoirs and earth dams. We have extensive experience in the design of flood storage facilities and are able to undertake Reservoir Inspections in line with Government requirements.
